We’re so happy to see you here!
Hi, we’re Gean and Kristine.
If this is your first visit, welcome. Whether you found us through YouTube, Google, or one of our articles, we’re glad you’re here.
A few years ago, our life looked very different. We both worked full-time, carried more than $60,000 in consumer debt, and felt like we were doing what everyone else does—working hard, paying bills, and hoping we’d eventually get ahead. Retirement wasn’t even on our radar. At the time, we were simply looking for a better way to manage our money.
That search introduced us to Financial Independence. We built a budget, paid off our debt, started investing, and kept learning. None of it happened overnight, but every small decision moved us a little closer to having more control over our future. Eventually, those decisions led us to retire in our mid 40s.
Our full-time retirement travel began with the Camino de Santiago. We took a repositioning cruise to Barcelona, made our way to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France, and started walking from there. For almost two months, our days were simple: walk, eat, sleep, and do it again the next day. It was not a vacation before the “real” travel started. It was the beginning of this new life, and it gave us time to slow down and understand what retirement actually felt like.
Since then, we’ve lived in places like Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, Turkey, Bulgaria, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Germany. Along the way we’ve learned that full-time travel isn’t about checking countries off a list. It’s about making better decisions—where to stay, how to manage money, which travel strategies are worth using, and what actually adds value to our lives.
As we shared more of our journey on YouTube, people started asking questions about retirement, travel rewards, hotel loyalty programs, credit cards, and what this lifestyle really looks like. Many of those conversations became the articles you’ll find on this website. We don’t write because we think we’ve figured everything out. We write because we’re constantly learning ourselves, and if something helps us, there’s a good chance it can help someone else too.
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to have our story featured by The Globe and Mail and TD Canada, but what means the most to us are the messages from people who tell us they paid off their debt, retired with confidence, or finally took that trip they’d been putting off for years. Knowing that something we’ve shared helped someone make a better decision is still the best part of what we do.
