We like this card for its balance of value and flexibility. Points transfer to top airlines and hotels. You can also use Chase Travel's portal.
It includes solid travel insurance, no foreign transaction fees, and a $95 annual fee — ideal for long-term travelers like us.
Chase IHG One Rewards Premier
We use this card for long hotel stays during our travels. It includes a free anniversary night each year, automatic Platinum Elite status, and strong point value at IHG hotels worldwide. The $99 annual fee often pays for itself with one stay.
American Express® Green
We like this card for flexible travel rewards without high fees. Earn 3x points on travel and dining, plus get clear trip protections and no foreign transaction fees. It’s a simple, global-friendly card with a $150 annual fee that can easily pay for itself if you travel often.
American Express® Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant®
We use this card for Marriott stays when we want comfort and perks. It offers an annual free night (worth up to 85K points), automatic Platinum Elite status, and up to $300 in dining credits. The $650 annual fee is high but easily offset if you stay with Marriott a few times a year.
Bilt Mastercard®
We don’t pay rent anymore, but we still recommend this card for anyone who does. It’s one of the few that earns points on rent with no fees. Points transfer to major airlines and hotels, plus you get 3x on dining and 2x on travel — all with no annual fee.
Capital One Venture X Rewards
We like this card for its simple, high-value rewards. Earn 2x miles on every purchase and 10x on hotels and rental cars through Capital One Travel. It includes lounge access, travel credits, and strong protections. The $395 annual fee is offset easily if you travel a few times a year.
